To close the gap between what Phi Kappa Tau stands for and how we are actually expected to act day-to-day, here's what you are committing to:
I'll actually know what my fraternity's ritual stands for, and I'll try to live it out every day — not just talk about it.
I'll take my grades seriously and never cheat.
I'll treat everyone with respect. That means no hazing, and no physically, mentally, or sexually abusing anyone — ever.
I'll look out for everyone's health and safety.
I'll take care of my own stuff and other people's stuff, and I won't let others trash or disrespect property either.
I'll pay my dues and other financial obligations on time.
I won't do illegal drugs or support anyone else doing them. I won't misuse alcohol or help anyone else do it.
I know that living somewhere clean matters for both your body and your mind, so I'll do my part to keep the house clean and taken care of.
I'll hold my brothers to these same standards, and I'll say something if someone's not living up to them.
Our four founding principles push us to be more than just "good enough." We should always be striving to actually live out what the Fraternity stands for, not just check a box. Building real, strong relationships with each other starts with that effort. I'm making a promise to uphold the values of Phi Kappa Tau.
